Please follow these instructions for a quick start to getting Myanmar Unicode capable software installed on a Windows computer. The instructions use Graphite enabled smart fonts to handle the complex rendering required. For more information or for Linux instructions, please read the more detailed explanations that follow.

• Install the Padauk OT 2.1 font.
• Install a Myanmar Unicode keyboard layout for Keyman.
  This includes an installer for Tavultesoft Keyman. If you are using it at home, you can choose the Home Use Edition which is free, otherwise, you need to pay for a license from Tavultesoft.
• You can now change to typing Myanmar Unicode if you select my-Win 2.1 by clicking on the Keyman icon in your system tray (bottom right of your screen) so it changes to . Click again to return to typing English.
• Download and install a Graphite enabled Web Browser (Firefox) and Email Client (Thunderbird).
• Install the Myanmar Language Pack for Firefox (optional)
• Download and install the Graphite enabled OpenOffice Suite, which includes a Myanmar Locale for sorting in spreadsheets etc.
• Follow these Instructions to configure OpenOffice for Myanmar.
